This project is aimed for 2 different specific target groups through 2 different dimensions:

  • Knowledge about cultural heritage (target group -migrants and re-emigrants)
  • Development of language knowledge and skills (learners with the cognitive impairments).

Project aims:

  • to strengthen relations between adult learners' organizations through knowledge about their cultural heritage;
  • to get acquainted with the methods of expressive and meaningful language learning by integrating music, arts;
  • to exchange good adult education experiences by integrating language and music / arts learning;

Activity. Content.

The project will include the exchange of teachers and pedagogical staff. This means that Lithuanian and Swedish participants will attend one another organizations in 5-day exchange visits. Project activities will take place in stages:

1. Preparation.

Cooperation agreements will be signed, risk assessment, visit content, distribution plan, logo, homework requirements will be discussed, responsible persons will be nominated for activities.

Participants who will take part in exchange visits, get acquainted with the culture of the country, prepare a presentation of their country, examples of cultural heritage, provide guidelines for the content of the visit of the partners.

The activities will be the responsibility of the applicants who signed the application and the participants of the project, appointed by the order of the legal representative.

2. Implementation.

Program: introduction, presentation of organizations, lectures on cultural heritage. The integration of people with special needs through language teaching through music. Practical monitoring of activity. Creating a project blog and artistic practice. Focus group discussion.

Haparanda Sweden

Program: introduction, presentation of organizations, lectures on cultural heritage.
Integrating migrants by highlighting the mutual significance of cultural heritage. Visiting the museum and observing practical activity. Creating an art exercise and a draft blog. Focus group discussion.

3. Outcomes.

  • Deeper knowledge of the cultural heritage of the Baltic and Nordic countries
  • More opportunities to apply cultural heritage (songs) by integrating migrants and spec. needs of people
  • Developed international cooperation and management competences
  • Methodological examples of music and language teaching interfaces are created

4. Dissemination.

Articles on the web-site, Epale, newspapers and seminar.

5. Follow-up.

The long-term result is the material for the new Nordplus project.

Project results are:

- Knowledge about Nordic / Baltic cultural heritage
- Developed international management and planning competencies
- A project blog, two artistic exercises, illustrating music and language interfaces.
- Published articles in the local press and on the website of both countries
- Poster about music and language links in adult education in Lithuania and Sweden
- Seminars for adult educators working with migrants and people with special needs.
